PDRF and Telcos lend a hand to PAGASA

PAGASA's rain and flood forecasting systems got a boon this month, when the first rain gauge to be installed on a functioning cell site was inaugurated.  The installation was part of an effort to provide strategic and resilient locations for the expansion of the rain gauge network across the Metropolis and surrounding areas.

Tree Nursery Launch kicks off Marikina watershed reforestation

The first step towards the massive reforestation of the Marikina watershed was taken recently as an emerging coalition of private groups, government agencies, local communities and local governments launched recently a tree nursery program in Antipolo City.

 

 

PDRF heads a multi-sectoral movement to reforest the Marikina watershed

December 16, 2009 - PDRF held a special preliminary activity to mark the start of a broad, multi-sectoral  movement to reforest the Marikina Watershed. This is through an inauguration of a seedling nursery which is symbolic of the efforts to reforest the watershed.

The newly-created Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF), headed by PLDT and Smart Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan, working with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and the local government of Laguna, began removing and recycling water lilies clogging Laguna de Bay as one of its first projects.
